Irene Torres was born in Lima, Peru and moved to Canada with her family as refugees when she was six years old. Now a proud Canadian citizen, she is an established member of Toronto’s diverse music scene. Her evocative solo album, “Travesía,” explores narratives of journeys to home, identify and belonging. Irene started the original blues and soul group Irene Torres & The Sugar Devils, has toured with Battle of Santiago, and is featured in Jaymz Bee’s Music for Secret Agents project.
