Lorraine Klaasen, daughter of legendary South African Jazz singer Thandie Klaasen, has preserved the classic sound of ‘Township Music’ – the most distinctive sound of South Africa. Now based in Montréal, Lorraine electrifies audiences worldwide with her dynamic stage presence and showmanship. Her CD, ‘A Tribute to Miriam Makeba’, won the 2013 Juno Award for World Music Album of the Year. Lorraine’s latest CD, the 2017 Juno Award nominated, ‘Nouvelle Journée’ is an optimistic, danceable record about the importance of family, empathy, love and hope.
