Pianist Kate Wyatt has been a mainstay of the Montréal jazz scene for more than 20 years. This year she has been touring British Columbia with quartet and trio performances that have garnered positive reviews as much for her sunny personality as for the music. Kate’s compositions and playing style, as displayed on her album “Artifact,” have been highly praised. Reviewer Saku Mantere, writing on the Bandcamp website, described Kate’s playing as: “Playful, contemplative, probing, intense, passionate; all contained in a deep pocket.”
