Born to German & Zimbabwean parents, Joanna grew up in a culturally diverse home that moved from Germany to Zimbabwe, South Africa, and finally to Canada. She was exposed to a rich practice of music and a growing love for jazz that brought her to where she is today. Although her greatest affinity is for jazz, Joanna is versatile within many musical genres. She has worked with Grammy nominated and award-winning artists such as Otis Brown III, Ulysses Owens Jr., David Clayton-Thomas and Jane Bunnett.
