A performance by Alex Pangman goes to the heart of jazz. With half a dozen albums to her credit, the vivacious singer is a specialist in songs from the Great American Songbook, the unofficial library of songs from Broadway, Hollywood and Tin Pan Alley from the 1920s through the 1950s that are a foundation for jazz education and repertoires. Alex and her longtime quintet of sentimental gentlemen called The Alleycats have built a loyal fan base among jazz listeners and dancers alike.
