The story of The Tap Room Gang goes back a century. Leader Sean McCarthy, from Newmarket, Ontario, acquired a bass saxophone in August 2024 and formed a band to perform the music of Adrian Rollini, a jazz pioneer from the 1920s who later led Adrian and his Tap Room Gang at a hotel in New York City. McCarthy and friends have expanded their band and its residency at the Steadfast Brewing Co. in Toronto. They released their debut album in December 2025.
