Members of Waleed Kush Afro-Jazz refer to their music as a healing art form, and to themselves as “humanity practitioners.” This Toronto-based quintet is fronted by Waleed Abdulhamid, a Sudanese multi-instrumentalist, composer and vocalist. His compositions blend African rhythms with contemporary jazz harmonies, embracing a spirit of exploration, inclusivity and accessibility.
