Main Street Unionville becomes a place of joyful energy Saturday afternoon. It happens wherever Samba Squad plays. Since 1999, this groove machine has lifted the spirits of people at countless festivals with Brazilian Carnaval-style parades. Founder and leader Rick Lazar was voted Percussionist of the Year five times by Jazz Report magazine. Four lively recordings and numerous television appearances attest to the group’s popularity.
