A sense of fun and vitality infuses Paloma Sky, a new quintet led by Toronto-born trumpeter Marie Goudy. Their first album, Hold On To Me, will be released in September. It is produced by Elizabeth Shepherd, who will perform on the McKay stage just before Paloma Sky. The recording is not Marie’s first, however. That was The Bitter Suite (2018), by the Marie Goudy 12tet. It featured vocalist Jocelyn Barth, who continues her musical partnership with Marie in Paloma Sky. Together they radiate positive energy.
