Jazz fans might never have seen this before – a trio with a cello! George Crotty collaborates with bassist Jonathan Chapman and percussionist Matias Recharte to create a unique musical brew. Since 2019, when they released their first of three albums, the trio has been touring in North America and Europe. They play modal jazz and draw on Arabic and Indian influences. Their latest album, released in June this year, is called “Heart Music” and is inspired by European jazz, Hindustani raga and contemporary chamber music.
